Jeremy Clarkson has revealed the real reason he chose the notoriously unreliable Alfa Romeo GTV6 for the final episode of The Grand Tour.

The former Top Gear host has a long history with the Italian car, having famously owned one in the 1990s. In a recent interview, Clarkson said that he chose the GTV6 for the final episode because he wanted to end the show on a "high note."

"The GTV6 is the most unreliable car I've ever owned," Clarkson said. "But it's also one of the most beautiful and exciting cars I've ever driven. I wanted to end The Grand Tour on a high note, and I thought the GTV6 would be the perfect car to do it."

Clarkson and his co-hosts, Richard Hammond and James May, drove the GTV6 on a road trip through Italy in the final episode of The Grand Tour. The car broke down several times during the trip, but Clarkson said that he didn't mind. In fact, he said that he enjoyed it.

"The GTV6 is a car that's meant to be driven," Clarkson said. "It's not a car that's meant to sit in a garage. I wanted to give it a proper send-off, and I think we did that."

The final episode of The Grand Tour aired on December 16, 2019. It was a fitting end to a show that has entertained millions of viewers around the world.
