On Thursday, Artem Chigvintsev, a professional dancer on ABC's 'Dancing with the Stars,' was arrested on a domestic violence charge. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Chigvintsev was taken into custody at his home in Los Angeles and booked into jail. His bail was set at $50,000.

The Allegations Against Chigvintsev

LAPD Officer Tony Im told reporters that Chigvintsev's girlfriend, whose name has not been released, reported that the dancer had hit her.

Im said that Chigvintsev's girlfriend had visible injuries, but he could not provide details about the extent of her injuries.

Chigvintsev is Scheduled to Appear in Court

Chigvintsev is scheduled to appear in court on Friday morning. If convicted of domestic violence, he could face up to four years in prison.

Chigvintsev's Attorney Says He is Innocent
