Courtside Scoop: Medvedev Speaks Out after Roland-Garros Loss

Russian Falls to De Minaur in Fourth Round

Medvedev: "It's Disappointing, but I'm Not Discouraged"

Daniil Medvedev has broken his silence following his disappointing fourth-round exit from Roland-Garros, where he suffered a straight-sets defeat to Australian Alex de Minaur. The 26-year-old Russian spoke to the media after the match, expressing his frustration but also acknowledging the positives he can take from the tournament.

"It's never easy to lose, especially in a Grand Slam," said Medvedev. "But I have to give credit to Alex. He played a great match today." Medvedev had entered Roland-Garros as one of the favorites, having won the US Open in 2021 and reached the final of the Australian Open earlier this year. However, he struggled to find his rhythm on the clay surface and admitted that he had been unable to adjust to the conditions quickly enough.

Despite the defeat, Medvedev insisted that he was not discouraged and would continue to work hard to improve. "I'm still young and I have a lot of time to get better," he said. "I'm going to take a few days off and then start training again. I want to come back stronger next year and give it another go."
