The Mavs Dominate the Clippers in Game 5 to Take a 3-2 Lead
The Dallas Mavericks have taken a 3-2 lead in their Western Conference Semifinals series against the Los Angeles Clippers after a dominant 123-93 victory in Game 5 on Tuesday night.
The Mavericks were led by their star backcourt tandem of Luka Dončić and Jalen Brunson, who combined for 50 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. Dončić finished with a game-high 27 points, while Brunson added 23 points.
The Clippers were led by Kawhi Leonard, who scored 30 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. However, Leonard was the only Clipper to score more than 15 points, as the rest of the team struggled to find their shot.
The Mavericks took control of the game in the second half, outscoring the Clippers by 22 points. The Clippers were held to just 38% shooting from the field in the second half, while the Mavericks shot 52%. The Clippers were also outrebounded by the Mavericks 45-33.
The Mavericks now lead the best-of-seven series 3-2, with Game 6 taking place on Friday night in Los Angeles. The Clippers will need to win both Game 6 and Game 7 in order to advance to the Western Conference Finals.
